Guest voting privacy notice

When you vote without a Vottee account

Snowyden Software (JTC Software Pty Ltd) collects your name when you vote as a guest, and your email when the poll requires it (or when you choose to provide one). This notice summarises how we handle that information. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

What we collect and why

We collect your name to record your vote. Where the poll requires an email address (or you provide one), we also collect that email to help identify your vote and, where offered, to email you about that poll. We also collect an age attestation (that you are at least 16, or have parent or guardian permission). Unless you decline on the vote form, we may email you about that poll when voting opens or closes, or if the poll admin sends a reminder because a new round is open and you have not voted in it yet — only when an email was collected for your vote. Every one of those emails includes an unsubscribe link, and we will not email you about any other poll. The poll admin can see your name and, where provided, email next to your vote. If you enable notifications in the Vottee app, we store a device push token against that poll so we can send voting-open and voting-closed alerts. We may save your name and, where provided, email in your browser (local storage) on this device so you do not have to re-enter them next time. When a poll does not collect email, we also store a random technical identifier (a UUID, not your name or email) in local storage so we can treat you as the same voter across rounds on this browser. Public vote pages may also use bot-protection checks. We do not display advertisements on vote pages.
